Can we afford $500,000 in legal expenses???
Dear Owner,
Almost $500,000 in legal expenses over 2 years?
The board is projecting to spend over $300,000 in legal expenses this year. [line number 7160 , 7161] Next year they will add another budgeted $180,000, totaling over $480,000 for two years. That number could go even higher. That over $1650 average per unit. There are at least 6 pending cases that the association is paying legal fees for itself and/or board members personally. Are you ready to fund those types of costs? Instead of improving the complex, homeowners are paying for board member mistakes and egomaniac filings.
What is missing? Where are the capital improvement projects? How are our reserves going to be funded or are they just going to magically increase from $61,000 to $105,000 by themselves [line # 9910]? There are no payments toward the reserves in the budget. General administrative fees [line # 7020] are going from $29,800 to zero? Are those becoming free or do we not want to put them in the budget for some reason? Plumbing repairs are $51,100 this year, but we have no line item [line #9180] for those repairs next year? Are we not having any plumbing problems next year? If we do , where is the money coming from?
We need to stop the board from spending our money on their attorney fees!
