Newsflash: If you're being sued as a Lisle Place Homeowner
Homeowners,
If you become entangled in the Board’s current legal disputes or lawsuits, you may need to retain your own attorney. The Association attorney represent Association and Board members only and will not protect your personal interests.
The Association’s attorney does not represent individual homeowners.
Even if you supported the Board or acted in reliance on what Board members told you, that does not mean that you are entitled to Association paid legal services.
Homeowners should also keep in mind that just because the Board says something does not make it legally correct. Joseph Peletis and the other Board members are not attorneys, and their legal advice is worth exactly what you pay for it.
Many homeowners who blindly followed the Board, believing that there is some far fetched $5 million “embezzlement” recovery, are now learning that relying on the Board without independent judgment may have been a serious mistake.
Also remember: the Board members themselves are being sued. Who do you think its their first priority to protect?
And remember Joseph Peletis’s email telling owners to submit everything to theirs/Association’s attorneys for approval first?
Who do you think that instruction was designed to protect, you or the Board?
